My Letter To You
Dear friend,
Maybe you're just starting to dream about adoption, but the price tag alone feels like enough to keep that dream on hold. Maybe you're already in the thick of it — paperwork done, home study complete, waiting and wondering how you'll cover what's left. Or maybe you're so close you can almost feel it — just a few thousand dollars away from bringing your child home, and it feels like the hardest stretch of the whole journey. Wherever you are, you're likely carrying a quiet weight about how you're going to pay for it all. I know that weight well. I've carried it myself.
When my husband and I began our own adoption journey, I remember staring at the total cost and feeling the wind knocked out of me.It wasn't the paperwork or the waiting that overwhelmed me most — it was the finances. And as I talked with other adoptive families walking the same road, I realized I wasn't alone. Money was the number one thing standing between so many families and the child God had already placed on their hearts.
So I did what I do best — I dove in headfirst. I researched every grant, every fundraising strategy, every resource I could find, and I treated fundraising for our adoption like it was my full-time job. What I found surprised me: there is so much funding available for families like ours — grants, matching programs, creative fundraising ideas — most families just don't know where to look, or don't have the time or energy to dig for it while managing everything else adoption asks of you.
That's when Haloway was born. The name carries meaning: 'halo' for God's light, and 'way' for the path forward He makes for us. Psalm 119:105 puts it simply: 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.' That's exactly what adoption financing had felt like to me — no visible path, until suddenly, there was one. God has given me gifts I can use to help guide families through their own wilderness. Our faith is what anchors us back to our mission, every step of the way. What started as a way to help a few friends navigate their own funding journeys turned into something I couldn't walk away from. I believe deeply that finances shouldn't be the reason a family doesn't get completed. And I believe that with the right plan, the right resources, and a whole lot of prayer, that gap can be closed — whether you're just beginning, in the middle, reaching for the finish line, or already home..
I'd be honored to walk alongside you — not just with strategy and spreadsheets, but with prayer and encouragement for the road ahead. And the need doesn’t end at placement. Once your child is home, therapy, medical care, and other needs can keep coming, and there are grants for those too. I help families find those, so you can focus on your child. You don't have to carry this alone.
With hope for your journey,
